Starlight Cinema is committed to protecting your privacy. The information we collect when you subscribe
to our e-mailing list or when you book tickets to our films is used to provide a personalised service.

We use personal information for the following purposes:

• To supply you with tickets purchased online;
• To communicate with you; and
• To undertake Starlight Cinema marketing activities.

We may also collect anonymous demographic information, which does not identify you by name. This information helps us to market Starlight Cinema effectively and to seek potential sponsor partners.

What is collected and how do we use it?

When you submit a booking for a film we need to know:

• your name;
• day and evening phone numbers;
• email address;
• postal address for verification of your credit card;
• credit card number and expiration date

This information helps us to:

• process your booking;
• send you a booking confirmation;
• contact you should there be a cancellation or any other change of which we believe you would wish to be informed.

We may also use the information we collect to notify you of new services offered by Starlight Cinema and special offers that we think will be of interest to you. These offers are related to Starlight Cinema or its sponsors.

We will also use this information to send you details of the Starlight Cinema program for the following year so that you are informed when the new season program is released.

Your booking with Starlight Cinema constitutes consent to receive the promotional material described above.  However, if you would rather not receive this information please uncheck the email notification box during the booking process, which enables you to unsubscribe from the Starlight Cinema mailing list.

The Starlight Cinema website contains links to the websites of other organisations.  Please note that Starlight Cinema takes no responsibility for the privacy policy or content of these linked websites. We suggest you view each site's privacy policy in full.

Starlight Cinema takes reasonable measures to protect personal information it holds from loss, misuse, modification and disclosure.  When Starlight Cinema no longer requires personal information, we securely destroy this information and delete it from our system.

Disclosing your information

The personal information we collect will not be sold, lent, disclosed or given to any external organisation except for third party contractors as set out below. We may however, at our discretion, contact you on behalf of other organisations to make special offers to you.

These organisations may include (but are not limited to):

Starlight Cinema may engage third party contractors to perform services such as mail-outs or web-hosting, which involve handling personal information. Starlight Cinema requires such contractors to comply with the National Privacy Principles and also takes reasonable steps to prohibit contractors from using personal information except for the purposes for which it was supplied.

Ensuring we hold accurate information

Starlight Cinema takes reasonable precautions to ensure that the personal information we collect and use is accurate, complete and up-to-date. However the accuracy of this information to a large extent depends on the information you provide.

We recommend that you:

• Keep us up-to-date with changes to personal information such as your name or email address.

You have a right to access your personal information. If you would like to do so, for security reasons, please make this request in writing and Starlight Cinema will provide you with access to your information which it holds unless there is an exemption which applies under the Privacy Act.
